6kg in a week is pretty impressive. I thought that I might chime in about the bike saddle (being a very keen cyclist myself) - Your first week or so on any saddle after not riding for some time will be a bit rough, but your butt will actually get used to it. If the saddle isn't very good, it might stay rough though! I definitely think that going to a specialty bicycle shop who know what they're talking about for a new one is a good idea, as stock saddles are often very poor. Keep in mind that a soft saddle of a shape that doesn't fit YOUR butt will be much more uncomfortable to ride on than a firmer one that does fit it.

Also, as much as the thought of wearing lycra might make you shudder, a good pair of bicycle shorts can make riding so much more comfortable. You don't have to bare all though - there are plenty of shorts out there which look just like regular shorts, but which have the padded insert inside them. Just something to think about if you're interested.

Also something to look forward to is that as you lose weight (and looking at your first week stats you look like you're firmly headed in that direction!), you'll be putting less and less pressure on your butt!

All the best for DOIT09!

Re: DOIT09 - Weigh In 02

Lookin good bro ..
